Christmas: A Season for Family🎄

As I have mentioned in my previous blogpost,  we normally think of Christmas as a season of gifts, food,  decors, and for some, travel.  I also noted on that previous post the importance of not forgetting the people we tend to neglect (security guards, librarians, etc.). Now, as we are just a few days away from everyone's favorite holiday, and since I assume that most of us are with our families in time for the 25th, that is exaclty what I wanna talk about.

The Family that Celebrates Together, is Happy Together

Now I'm sure y'all have heard of the saying "The Family that prays together,  stays together. " However, my growing up years have shown that there are different types of families all over our society.  From kids with OFW parents, to those whose families aren't intact (for various reasons), I understand that some of you may not have the luxury of spending everyday of your lives with your loved ones.  Which is why once you see them heading out of NAIA,  or once they see you heading back to your respective provinces or countries, U sincerly hope that you guys have the best 2 weeks of the year with your parents and relatives.  Sure, they may be difficult to bear (I've been there, trust me), pero madalang silang makita kayo sa mga buhay ninyo. Kaya sana sulitin niyo itong panahon na ibinigay nf Diyos kasama yung mga mahal ninyo sa buhay.

To those with "Normal Family Settings"

By normal, I describe this as those families who are lucky enough to see each every sjngle day.  I myself fall in this category, and to be honest, I sometimes take my fanily for granted.  Seeing most of my friends either without their parents or travelling on their owon, I honestly kinda get jealous at times knowing na nakasalalay pa rin 'buhay ko kina Mommy at Daddy.  There are instances wherein I wish I could experience living independently with little to no parental supervision.  However,  being on the verge Of graduating from College, the holidays made me realize that this would be possibly my "LAST CHRISTMAS EVER" as a student (only God knows whether I'll pursue Masters or go straight to work). My main point is that, whether you're on the final years of your childhood or you seem to be dragged down dahil paulit-ulit yung pagdiwang ng Pasko kasama yung pamilya,  just note that we never know what next Cjristmas will bring to us.  Who knows,  baka kelangan mag-abroad mga parents natin,  or worse, baka kelangan na natin umalis ng bahay to start our own lives.  Kaua whatever time we have with the fam (kahit repeated siya),  sulitin natin, yes.  So Jake, 'wag kang selos at mamuhay ka na nang masaya kasama yung fam. Balang araw, kakailangan mo naman mamuhay nang mag-isa. Charot

To Those Who Can't Make It

I definitely feel for you guys so much. That heartbreaking "No, I can't make it in time for Christmas" a parent gives to his/her child must be such a hard pill to swallow for those who anticipated mommy and daddy's flight back home. Just know that I'm keeping y'all in my thoughts and prayers, and that your daily sacrifices towards the people you left behind are the perfect Christmas gifts you could possibly give them.  So hopefully your spirit aren't dampened,  and that y'all keep that holly jolly vibe around you. Thankfully,  Santa gave us the gift of Social Media,  which helps us reconnect with the relavites living thousands of miles away from us.

So wherever you are from the world,  and with whoever y'all are celebrating with, I sincerely wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!

Season's Greetings,
Del Ro
